It Works For Us
I’m homeschooled, have been for around 6 years,
But that doesn’t mean I’m anti-social or don’t know how to speak,
Or that I’m a religious fanatic, “Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?”
I believe in Him, but I know not to force anyone into my beliefs,
Nor am I a hippie that loves nature, nor do I like playing with bugs,
My mom doesn’t burn bras, and my dad doesn’t run an organic co-op for a living,
And I don’t try to make my homeschooling sound like so much fun,
Or to try to promote this way of education,
Homeschooling, like everything else, is what you make of it,
We’re not anti-evolution, nor maladjusted,
And no, not all kids that are homeschooled are well-mannered or perfect,
Believe me, I know this, and I definitely know others who will agree,
We’re just like you guys; we don’t sit at home and twiddle our thumbs,
We don’t lie in our beds all day and do nothing but sleep,
This isn’t South Park and NONE of us are Eric Cartman,
Homeschooling has its pros and cons,
Just like everything else in this world;
We’re not perfect kids, financially elite, or robots,
We’re just like you, we just learn in a different way; and for us, it works

The Ghost Of *You
I think the only thing that's mildly different about me is the fact even though I was in public school all the way till I was 10-11 years old, was that I was always well-mannered and acted "old." I did things that kids my age, didn't. Even now people look at me as an old man in a teenager's body. (Something I'm beginning to embrace) But even still, I know how to be a kid because I am one. I'm not anything special because I'm homeschooled or this or that. I always say that and it won't change. Even my older cousins said I acted old!
It's just who I am, but.........I'm rambling. I hope you guys enjoy this piece.
By the way the Eric Cartman reference was talkin' about the episode where he was being homeschooled and he didn't do CRAP but lay around and eat chips. Now people think that's what I do. And I really don't like that.
